Study day "Future of Musicology"
Over the past few years we have debated about the future of musicology. We want to revive this discussion by holding a study day. The morning session will be devoted to duo-presentations by speakers who have not yet been heard on this subject (names to be mentioned soon). Then, in the afternoon we will have a round table discussion focussing on some of the most crucial issues that have been highlighted during the debates. Finally, we will work out a plan of action. In our opinion the first step would be to appoint one or more editors who collect all the contributions (preferably translated into English) in a booklet. This could function as a starting point for extending and deepening the thinking about our discipline(s).
